Maureen McGrath was raised in a large Irish Catholic family in a small town outside of Boston, Massachusetts where she attended parochial school. Her relatives would be rolling over in their graves if they knew she talked the taboo hosting the Sunday Night Sex Show on News Talk 980 CKNW, a weekly two hour live listener call-in radio program in Vancouver, British Columbia.
She doesn't mince words, is irreverent when she has to be and speaks with conviction. She doesn't take life too seriously and has an uncanny ability to see the humour in just about everything in life. Maureen is author of the book, Sex & Health: Why One Can’t Come Without The Other which she is changing on it's next run to "Sex: The State of All Affairs in A Marriage" because that actually reflects what the book is about; cheating, on-line dating and pornography. She is a Registered Nurse and Sexual Health Educator in private practice in North Vancouver, British Columbia where she sees patients who have messed up their marital beds......and not necessarily in the best way. She also sees women with low sexual desire mostly from long term relationships (yawn), marrying the wrong person (oooh) or vaginal dryness (ouch) which is actually the most common reason and might I add the least sexy. That said, she believes it's just as important to moisturize your vagina as it is your face.
A sought after speaker, she is the recipient of the 2009 Vancouver Coastal Health Nursing Excellence Award, a 2015 YWCA Women of Distinction finalist (another way to say she didn't win) and the 2016 recipient of Vancouver Board of Trade, Wendy McDonald Community Catalyst Award.
