Vaginal dryness is a common condition that affects upwards of 80% of women (and mostly during the menopausal years). Only about 5% of women are treated, which is unfortunate since there are many hormone-free treatment options readily available. Some women may choose to use probably the most natural option which would be olive oil or coconut oil and find relief from these.
Although these options may be effective, they can also be messy (especially the olive oil!) and since both are an oil base, they may interfere with the integrity of a latex condom. I don't recommend going this route if condoms are your method of birth control.
There are moisturizers, lubricants and/or ovules available to women as treatment options for her vaginal dryness. I recommend a personal moisturizer that has an applicator so that it can be inserted into the vagina where the problem lies. I would stay away from creams or anything that is dubbed an "intimate care cream" and/or products that are to be applied outside of the vagina or the vulva/labia. These just won't work as they are not getting inserted into the vagina or absorbed into the vagina.
Although the personal moisturizers that are inserted into the vagina are absorbed quite readily, some women may find them messy which is why I recommend using them at nighttime. These moisturizers/lubricants can also be used during sex which may help to make it less painful. That said, some women may find them to be messy still.
One of the benefits of RepaGyn, which is an ovule in treating vaginal dryness, is that it isn't messy. RepaGyn is inserted into the vagina and is readily absorbed by the dry vaginal tissues. RepaGyn is a hormone-free, all natural, personal moisturizer that is available behind the pharmacy counter without a prescription. It contains hyaluronic acid to help to heal your vaginal tissues and Vitamin E to keep your vaginal tissues youthful.
